THE story OF MARVIS STARTED MANY YEARS AGO WITH OUR FOUNDING MARQUIS, THE ONE YOU SEE ON EVERY MARVIS TUBE.
BUT DO WE REALLY KNOW who HE WAS?

The legend of the Marquis is deeply intertwined with Italian history. More specifically, it started in the early XIX century: before the invention of toothpaste. Back then, Italians used to gesticulate even more than they do now, as a way to make up for the terrible breath coming out of their mouth. It’s with the goal of preserving the Italian language that our Marquis started developing a paste for dental hygiene. Unfortunately, Italians still gesticulate a lot. But their breaths are undoubtedly amazing.
The history of the Marquis starts in 1455, when he made his first headline just minutes after he was born. In fact, he came into the world smiling with a full set of bright, strong teeth. And he never lost any of them. It didn’t take long for him to became the first Oral Care Influencer in history. And, as any respectable influencer, it took him even less to launch his own brand. Exactly, you’re looking at it.
Legend has it that the Marquis portrayed on every Marvis tube actually may not be Marvis’ original founder. Not many people know this, but in the early 1900s, before the invention of milk cartons, they used toothpaste tubes to spread images of missing people. Therefore the man on the tube was a missing person. So, in case you see him, contact us.
We discovered that the Marquis devoted his whole life to his two passions: poetry and toothpaste. Not much more is known about his poetry, except for his only retrieved manuscript, a poem probably dedicated to a lover. It reads: “Roses are red, violets are blue, don’t forget to floss and your smile will be true!” We wonder why his toothpaste Marvis became famous and his poetries didn’t.
CONVINCED? NEITHER ARE WE.
